An Ode to St. Patty’s Day from the Grandson of an Irish Twin

By Ricky Streight (though the identity of the Irish Twin shall remain unknown)

Many many days ago in a place near Byers Loch

T’were cousins by the dozen and other such kin

Never needin an excuse mind you to nip at the crock

Whilst most assuredly avoidin the eye of that Erie twin

Twas hidden in a drawer meant never to be seen

Safely out of sight from her Eire Landish eyes

Ready for consumption so to last the whole night long

Being as yet a minor, a mere lad of ‘bout nineteen

Was sneaking to my room but found to my surprise

Both the whiskey and the twin were already half gone!

(Okay, so maybe this did not really happen..., but, then again?)
